What's new in FlexRip 7 Release 4
The latest version of FlexRip brings improved integration with the rest of the Esko product family, as well as new screening and dot gain compensation features.
In addition there are some significant memory and speed optimizations . Altogether, R4 delivers improved value to the customer, and confirms it as a reliable, performant imaging hub for all print processes.
Integration
- BackStage tasks can now be chained after the RIP task, allowing automation of post RIP operations
- Staggered cutting support
- Multi inkbook support
- XMP digital film set extensions
Screening: Concentric and Organic are now available
Concentric is a proven solution for offset printing, which improves image quality and press stability, while saving ink (from 10% to 30% depending on the application). Its radical approach of dividing a conventional round dot into rings limits ink film on press, giving the advantages of stochastic screening, while keeping the benefits of standard AM screening.
Second order stochastic Organic screening completely eliminates moiré patterning while improving image sharpness. As there are no screen angles, it is ideal for multi-color process printing.
PressSync: curves for the rest of us
PressSync replaces measured dot gain curves by a system of synchronized curves which are built into the RIP. These curves are already optimized for typical flexo and offset printing conditions. Using a curve system greatly simplifies operation, and the included PressSync calculator application makes it easy to match a press standard such as G7 or ISO.
Optimizations
Specific cases (based on analysis of customer needs) have been optimized - it is hard to say what to expect as some jobs are up to 10x faster whereas others are the same speed as before.
